Neurofeedback is not being done by the guy who already knows about it, so it can be "discovered" by the guy down the hall who doesn't because the insurance provider who is running the hospital says it's too expensive and it's not covered. If it's not covered, it won't get done. If it doesn't get done, some young turk will "discover" it as a miracle treatment...until s/he gets shot down by the suits who are in charge of the money and the process keeps getting repeated over and over and over. If I sound bitter, it could be because I am. (of course, I am dealing with the American HMO system...so I may be generalizing.)
