Professor Reuven Feuerstein, Jerusalem, has been working with children with severe brain disorders for over 50 years. (see http://www.icelp.org/asp/Basic_Theory.shtm). He developed his theory of structural cognitive modifiability. He has published an amazing number of papers and has had some enormous success stories. His book: Don’t Accept me as I am – Helping the Low Functioning Person Excel (revised edition),
by Reuven Feuerstein, Y. Rand, & Ra. S. Feuerstein. 2006. $45, describes his theory and gives examples of the exercises he uses with these kids.
