How to Evolve:

1. Start with a healthy amount of Heart.

2. Add one effective and efficient Brain.
3. Mix thoroughly.
4. Let sit.
5. Check occasionally (especially in cases of environmental disturbances); add a pinch more Heart at least every 24 hours to maintain healthy growth.

And that's it! Easy, eh?

What's that? You're not an experienced Evolution cook?

No problem...we'll take it one step at a time!

1. Start with a healthy amount of Heart.

Here's a quote to get us started:

"The affairs of the heart are directly connected to the brain and it's the heart's natural intelligence that must be unfolded for the brain to operate with greater efficiency."  (Joseph Chilton Pearce, Magical Child)

Research is increasingly showing that this is not just some idealistic pie-in-the-sky notion.

The brain and the heart are directly connected, and this connection is strongest in the direction you might not expect -- in the vagus nerve communicating between the heart and the brain, 85-90% of the information is running from the heart to the brain!

There is much much more information about heart-brain connections I won't cover today, but let me just summarize the "take-home point" by saying that research shows that in many situations our heart responds first and our brain follows our heart's lead.

What does this mean for personal evolution? We need to learn to really Listen and not override what our Heart is saying.

2. Add one effective and efficient Brain.

This is where brain biofeedback comes in.

Listening to our heart will improve brain functioning, but there are other steps we can take to break down health and emotional barriers that are getting in our way. I have tried to share some of this information in other blog entries, so I won't add too much here, except to reflect that if we have a maximally efficient and effective brain for our Heart to talk to - well, doesn't it just make sense that we will be able to be and do better than if we leave one or both out of the recipe?

3. Mix thoroughly.

I have found that if people I work with practice maintaining heart coherence while we are providing feedback to their brain, their results are superior (faster, stronger, or both) than if they do not.

So now I recommend people move between listening and letting the music play and practicing heart coherence during neurofeedback sessions as well as practicing  between sessions.

4. Let sit.

This is sometimes the hardest step - just letting change happen, without trying to "force" it. Imagine checking your bread every few minutes to see if it has risen yet -- you would interfere with the process and wreck your results.

5. Check occasionally and add a pinch more Heart at least every 24 hours to maintain healthy growth.

Practicing heart coherence and brain neurofeedback create ripples of change in your whole system. Sometimes these ripples will feel like tsunami's and you may have to wait it out until the aftershocks settle. Most of the time the changes are gentle waves you may not even be aware are shifting. Trust in the process, keep practicing, and enjoy the shifts when you notice them.
